I'm an Austin, Texas based UX and instructional designer with over a decade of experience in education, aspiring to create engaging, effective, and equitable learning experiences.
As someone who's been in the secondary education trenches for quite some time, I'm pretty savvy at creating effective learning experiences. I mastered the art of tuning into student needs and goals—exactly what I do in UX design—by fostering open dialogue in my classroom, which was full of diverse voices. It's tricky to balance those goals with state-mandated learning outcomes, but I spent countless hours squaring that circle to design intuitive, user-friendly learning experiences.
For the last six years now, I've led campus- and district-level teams, transforming feedback, data, and standards into curriculum and lessons that resonate with thousands of students and hundreds of teachers. In this capacity, I was committed to inclusivity and innovation, revamping curriculums, reading lists, and school procedures with an eye on improving equity in education.
Now, I'm excited to apply these skills to UX design, where I can channel my passion for engaging and equitable user experiences into intuitive digital solutions that resonate with diverse audiences from all walks of life.
(I've also been informally applying design thinking to creative writing, D&D campaigns, and my gardens for even longer.)
